Sugata Mitra and Hole in the Wall
The essence of the Sugata Mitra message is that children can teach themselves almost anything, including language. One of the comments learners made in response to the Hole in the Wall computers was - "You have given us a machine that works only in a language we do not understand, so we taught ourselves English in order to use it". Self-organized learning environments seem to oppose the vocabulary principles about explicit and controlled teacher instruction but certainly echo constructivist philosophy.
Mitra argues in favor of Self-Organized Learning Environments (SOLE). Heterogeneous groups of students organized around a single computer without a curriculum. He warns that the computer must be in a safe public place that can be associated with free time and play and that children must be in control of the device. That seems to constructivism epitomized.
